Your number 5 strategy is best, and to be on the safe site, write two versions of each article, one to show (on your site) and one to go (for distribution)
Ahh, but where and how do you distribute the articles?
At the article directories, of course, like Ezinearticles.com and dozens and dozens of other sites.
Offer the articles free right from your own site too, with the rewritten version (excluded from robots.txt) and including your bio & backlink properly formatted for anchor text)
